Trendeing With Maternity Wear: How To Highlight Your Baby Bump

Whether you are expecting a baby(s) this year or are planning for children in the future, we want to help you shop your closet and stay on budget even with maternity wear. Check out Anh Dao’s saving tip at the bottom of this post for ideas on how to use the items you currently have as maternity wear, and how to highlight your baby bump!

This maternity outfit is simple and elegant, and is meant to highlight the baby bump. The maxi dress is maternity friendly with a high waist and plenty of room for a growing baby. Yet, it is still trendy with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a flattering silhouette.

An empire waist is an easy way to highlight your baby bump while still wearing clothing that is roomy enough to be comfortable. Though loose clothing can sometimes hide a baby bump, a high waist line helps define what is your own body shape and where your baby bump begins. Read on below for Anh Dao’s tip on how to highlight your baby bump using items you already have in your closet!

This maternity fashion comes to a budget friendly total of $42.18!

  • Dress $7.18 (with Target Cartwheel app)
  • Boots $35.00

TOTAL = $42.18

Anh Dao’s MATERNITY WEAR SAVING TIP

Now that you have a maternity wear friendly section right in your closet (check out January’s blog for tips), it’s time to have some fun with different silhouettes. To minimize or highlight the bump do you ask? I say, go for it and highlight that baby bump! Oversized clothing items can make you appear bigger than you may really be. As my pregnancy progressed during second trimester and now into third trimester, I have gravitated toward form fitting dresses that are stretchy and will grow with pregnancy. Toss a long cardigan sweater over top and you have comfort, and full coverage, as well as being able to show off that baby bump. And the best part is, you can wear that stretchy dress after pregnancy too.
